Horry County man indicted by federal grand jury in Myrtle Beach robbery, beheading plot

A federal grand jury indicted an Horry County man in connection with what police said was a plan he developed to rob a Myrtle Beach armored cash service and behead the manager and his wife in attempt to make the crime look like terrorism.

David Lawrence Wallace Jr., 37, of Nichols was indicted Tuesday on one count of solicitation to commit Hobbs Act armed robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Columbia. If convicted, Wallace faces up to 10 years in prison.

Federal authorities arrested Wallace Nov. 17 on the charge and he remains jailed at the Darlington County Detention Center, according to a U.S. District Court criminal complaint and jail records.
