Shag championships open with preliminary ‘Shagging with the Stars’ benefit
The 32nd annual National Shag Dance Championships, raising money for the Beth Mitchell Memorial Scholarship – for which $104,000 has been given to students since 1999 – open with preliminary competitions, 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday at The Spanish Galleon, at the OD Beach & Golf Resort, on the east end of Main Street in North Myrtle Beach. These lead up to the finals, March 12-14 at the same site.
