Despite cold weather along the Grand Strand, hundreds of local Special Olympics supporters will do anything for their cause including taking a plunge in the frigid ocean waters.

The ninth annual “Freezin’ for a Reason” Polar Plunge that benefits Horry County Special Olympics will be held Feb. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Springmaid Beach Resort at 3200 South Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach.
