As of 6 p.m. Hanna had already dumped around 2 inches of rain in much of the Charleston area and had made life rather unpleasant.

Area schools closing or dismissing early Friday. Update: C of C closing
Update 6:45 p.m.: The College of Charleston has announced that it will be closed Friday and Saturday. The Citadel still plans to stay open.
Also, Charleston County has issued a voluntary evacuation order.
