The news is a bit old, but we thought it still beared mention as The Post and Courier has done a nice profile on Evan Thompson about his leaving the Historic Beaufort Foundation to be the new executive director of the Preservation Society of Charleston.

That group, much like the Beaufort group, is an advocate of preservation and is responsible for the historic markers and Carolopolis markers you see around town, among other things.
