Photos from Beaufort's Night on the Town

From Charleston to Carteret streets, Bay Street in downtown Beaufort was flooded with people on Friday night as the Christmas season got rolling during the annual Night on the Town festival.

During a chilly 47 degree evening musicians and choruses sang, trees were lit, children ran, hot chocolate served, children bounced on Santa's lap, and, yes, cash registers rang.

The event kicks off three days of activities in downtown, with the Night Boat Parade tonight, and Christmas Parade on Sunday.

Below is a photo roundup of the evening, but if you'd like a few more words I'll point you to The Island Packet's report.

118 Along with taking in some good cheer, many festival goers shared their love with downtown merchants by opening their wallets.
