Update September 24: The Old Bull Tavern has finally reached the end of major work, and The Island Packet writes that it's due to open this week.
Being as they're skipping the deep-fat frier, the food lineup should be more interesting than your standard bar fare.

First reporting: The old Breakwater location on West Street was due to be a British pub back in early 2011, and even got so far as the beginnings of a rework on the interior before the plan fell apart — and 205 West Street has sat empty since.
Well, now the folks behind the well regarded Al Di La Italian restaurant in Charleston are due to open a British oriented gastropub with good eats and good drinks. Eat Sleep Play Beaufort writes that it's due to open this August with the name the "Old Bull Tavern".
