BIG Liars needed to compete in Beaufort

http://www.beaufortcountyarts.com/bigstoryfest.htmpromo for the BIG story fest

Got a knee-slapping, tear-jerking, high-faluting, fun-loving, somethin'-somethin' story to tell? Share your voice during the the BIG Story Fest in Beaufort Town Center this March.

B.I.G. stands for Beaufort Intergalactic, because the stories will be outta-this-world and down to earth. Themes can certainly go beyond sci-fi— lies are good natured tall tales (fiction or embellished truth.) Examples include "golf lies," "used car lies," "political lies," "fishing lies," etc; length 3-5 minutes.

The Liars Competition goes like this: March 2 preliminaries; March 3 semi-finals; March 9 wildcard round (for out-of-towners, and anyone brave enough); March 10 Finale.

Details & registration at http://www.beaufortcountyarts.com/bigstoryfest.htm#liars  and stop by ARTworks, 2127 Boundary Street (along with KMart & BiLo.)

There are junior and senior divisions ($5 and $10 to register) and prizes too. Call the arts council office at ARTworks with questions at (843) 379-2787.

This new, fantastical event is a collaboration from ARTworks, the community arts center in Beaufort, with Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry and the Lowcountry Storytellers Guild.
