Los Angeles producer turned Port Royal local to do book signing

TV movie writer and producer H. Haden Yelin traded her Los Angeles days for a quieter life in Port Royal and has recently written a book about family hardship.

From The Conjurer's description: "Living in the natural wonderland of the coastal islands, a boy named Jordan has already discovered the meaning of trouble in his life. He can't understand why terrible things--the loss of his mother, the suffering of his father--happen. But he also feels that there is an answer somewhere, and he is determined to find it. To his amazement, he makes a discovery beyond his wildest dreams--and learns that the world, the beautiful promising world of fireworks and singing birds and long lazy days on the water, is more fabulous than he ever imagined."

Yelin wrote the book under the pen name E.V. MacQuint and will be signing copies of the book in Port Royal and Beaufort.

The Island Packet's Amy Coyne Bredeson has written a short profile about Yelin and her book; read it here.

Yelin will be at Nuances in Port Royal from 4 to 6 p.m. on November 15 and McIntosh Book Shopper from 6 to 9 p.m. December 7.

The book is the first in a series of three.
