Bestselling authors to be honored at gullah event

Pat Conroy, Roland Gardnerm and Sankofa Circle Inc. wiil be inducted into The Penn Center at 7 p.m. on May 7 at the Holiday Inn in Beaufort.
The awards are so presented to honor thier protection of the Gullah-Gechee culture in their respective works. A reception will be held at 6 p.m., and tickets are $100 per entry and must be purchased by Monday, April 18.
