'An Evening in Paris with Ben Franklin'

Ever wanted to have a posh dinner with Founding Father Benjamin Franklin?

Well you're a couple centuries too late, but you still have two days for Wren's "An Evening in Paris with Ben Franklin," where Steve Nousen will be on hand interpreting Franklin role on July 11, 1785, when Franklin was in Paris.

The scenario is that Franklin has recently secured a loan from the French for the Revolutionary War and has invited you to a dinner at a Paris bistro to thank you for your "loyalty to the cause of liberty" on the eve of his return to America.

Nousen will have prepared remarks and take questions.

The dinner is Wednesday, November 17, from 6 to 7 p.m., and Ben Speaks from 7 to 8 p.m.

Cost is $40 per person and includes a homemade cheese gougere, organic arugula salad, and a choice of herb roasted salmon, chicken cordon bleu, or frenched rack of lamb, desert is creme brulee with fresh berries.

Wren is at 210 Carteret Street in downtown Beaufort. Make reservations by calling (843) 524-9463.

Also on Wren's calendar is an art expo and wine tasting on Sunday, December 12, and fashion show and bunch to benefit Friends of Caroline Hospice (date to be announced).
