Update October 27:

There's just three nights left to get your spook on (the 28th, 28th, and 30th) and if you haven't been because you're not convinced of Beaufort's spooky merits, check out this post on local site "Show & Tell" about what spirits you might encounter along the route.

First reporting:

Although Savannah and Charleston recently were named among CNBC's 10 most Haunted Cities in America, let's not forget all of the ghost stories Beaufort has to offer.

In fact, one of the oldest ghosts in America (we have no idea how people determine that) is said to live in "the Castle" on Craven Street in the Old Point.

What's that, you don't know the story of Gauche the dwarf? Well then you'll certainly have to take one of  the Exchange Club of Beaufort's Ghost Tour's that begin this Friday night.

The tours will run on Oct. 15, 16, 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 & 30 and will leave every 20 minutes between 6:30 and 8 pm from the parking lot at 1006 Bay Street.

Tickets are $20/adult and $10/child 3-11, with the proceeds going toward CAPA (Child Abuse Prevention Association.)
