Update March 20: The results from Staurday's Beaufort Twilight Run out at Habersham are up on the race website and you can find them here.

But more imporant than that, race organizers are reporting that more than $30,000 was raised for Riverview Charter School.

Update March 19: Reminder that it's tonight.

The third annual Beaufort Twilight Run
– Beaufort's largest running festival – returns this year to the
Habersham Marketplace on Saturday, March 19.

With one of the most
scenic courses in the state, the race brings racers from as far
away as Alaska to Beaufort for this USA Track and Field sanctioned
and certified event. The course winds through the quaint neighborhood of
Habersham and allows participants views of the Live Oaks, marshes and
the Broad River — at sunset.

It's a family-friendly event, which is open to the public (not just race
participants) and features an Oyster Roast and live entertainment.

One hundred percent of the proceeds
from the race benefit Riverview Charter School (Beaufort County's
first charter school). Last year's race raised $20,000 for the
school, and with registrations already surpassing those at this time
last year, race organizer Jody Hayward is optimistic that the race
will bring in even more money this year.

The organizers have two additional goals: to create a family event
centered on physical wellness while at the same time introducing a
competitive race to Beaufort. What they didn't count on was how it's
brought together the community. School groups from as far as
Charleston come out together to run or walk together; coworkers and
squadrons have encouraged one another sign up and join in a little
friendly competition. And the sense of community that the event has
created now extends beyond Beaufort – last year 15 states were
represented.

New features for this year's race are
sure to draw an even bigger crowd. While last year included only an
8K run, they have added a 5K chip-timed run. Sponsored by Watermark
Coastal Homes
, the run will present overall finisher and age-group
awards. Also new this year is live entertainment. Stan Gray and the
Stingrays
will perform during the Oyster Roast, catered by Sea Eagle
Market
. And finally, for some pre-race carb loading, Piace Pizza
located in the Habersham Marketplace – will feature a pasta dinner
from 5-9 pm on Friday night (March 18).
