Author to offer first-hand account of Afghanistan at Rhett House event

Heather Metcalfe, a New York author and founder of the nonprofit Artfully Unforgotten, will be at the Rhett House Inn from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday to give a brief talk on her trip to Afghanistan and sign copies of her book "Voices of Afghanistan."

According to its website, the nonprofit's goal is to:

advocate and raise resources for vulnerable communities throughout the world through the production of artistic exhibits, theatre and artistic materials.
