Afternoon update: The weather did what it does best: Change.

The showers seems due to come a few hours later tonight from about 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, and the chance of thunderstorms has moved up. — We're still on for those sunny and less warm highs this week though.

Here's a link to the full forecast.

First reporting: After making several goes at the record high, Beaufort's weather will make one more attempt today as it tries to hit 82 degrees with mostly sunny skies.

However a cold front will slip in this afternoon bringing slightly windier 15-20 MPH winds and, starting around 7 p.m., rain. About a quarter inch is expected to fall through the evening and night and will signal the arrival of cooler temperatures.

Lots of sunshine is forecast for the remainder of the week, but highs will be in the mid-60s and lows in the mid-40s.

Spring won't start until March 20, so hopefully you enjoyed this early taste.
