Organizers of Beaufort's Relay for Life campaign will hold a kickoff event from 1 to 5 Saturday at the Club House at Coosaw Point on Lady's Island. The Island Packet has a brief on Saturday's event.

The actual Relay for Life event will be held April 29, 2011 at Beaufort Middle School.

Relay for Life is the largest  fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.
