Given all the recent news about dog attacks in the Beaufort area we thought area dog obedience classes would be worth a mention.

Up first is the most topically relevant (even if it is a bit of a drive,) the Humane Society for Greater Savannah is holding a free "Pit Bull Education Seminar" that's also aimed at owners of "any powerful breeds also caught up in the media like Rottweilers, mastiffs, boxers, German shepherds, etc." on Tuesday, March 15, at 5:30 p.m.

RSVP by contacting Carol at 912-354-9515 ext. 112 or by e-mailing your name and contact info to CBennett@humanesocietysav.org

Up next are the more general and local, but pay-for classes offered at the Technical College of the Lowcountry — subject range from general obedience, to grooming, to first aid at a cost of $75 to $229. Classes start in March and run the remainder of the year. Head here to register and for more details.
