With Thanksgiving past, we're headed deep into the holiday season.

The 2012 Light Up The Night holiday boat parade is slated for Saturday, December 8, and those wishing to enter their boats need to submit an application by 5 p.m. on Monday, December 3.

All recreational and commercial boats are permitted with a fee of $15.

Here are some details:

Who: Come One! Come All! Large Boats & Small!!!
What: Each boat must have lights. Participants are encouraged to be creative in designing their boats for the parade. Plaques will be awarded in six (6) categories.
Award Categories: Best Decorated Power Boat Under 25’; Best Decorated Power Boat 25’ & Over; Best Decorated Sailboat Under 30’; Best Decorated Sailboat 30’ & Over; Best Decorated not for profit vessel and Best Decorated Commercial Boat.
Where and When: Non-motorized vessels will gather at the Downtown Marina Day Dock at 5 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012. The lead boat will arrive at the seawall at the Waterfront Park by 5:30 p.m. Boats will make two passes by the seawall.
Power Boats and Sailboats will gather in the river at Buoy # 244, near Port Royal Landing Marina at 5 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012. The lead boat will arrive at the seawall at the Waterfront Park by 6:00 p.m. Boats will make two passes by the seawall.
