A rare alligator sighting on the beach not causing mass panic.

The Friends of Hunting Island's 4th Annual Sand Sculpture Contest at Hunting Island State Park was this Saturday and while you've missed out on the fun, loads of great photos abound.

Up top is a shot by Captured Moments Photography at Eat Sleep Play Beaufort, and they have dozens more for you to check out online (or see them on Facebook).

The Island Packet also has 67 shots for you.

Tools permitted to build the castles included buckets, shovels, sand scoops, carving tools, putty knives, spray bottles for water, and kitchen utensils. Materials were limited to only natural materials found on/near the beach and no artificial decorations or materials are permitted.
