Update July 26: The Beaufort Gazette talks to the owner of Mario's, and guess what, his name isn't Mario.

First reported July 22: Looks like a new Italian restaurant has opened on Ribaut Road across from Alvin Ord's Sandwich Shop.

The new restaurant is Mario's Italian Ristorante & Pizzeria.

There's nothing out on the Web at all about the spot so you'll just have to wait for one of us or another media spot to drop by, or if you've been drop a comment below.

We also hear that Carolina Wings has re-opened just up the road in the Millenium development that houses the Keyserling Cancer Center and Lowcountry National Bank.
