With an expired lease, the Piggly Wiggly on Dairy Farm Road in Gardens Corner closed on Saturday. 

As with many business closings, details are sparse, though an employee said there are scenarios circulating under which the store could reopen. 

Residents in the area will certainly feel the impact from the site of the store the nearest full-sized grocery store is 12 miles  to the Food Lion in Laurel Bay, or 30 miles to a Piggly Wiggly in Hampton. Numerous smaller convenience store grocers dot the area.
