The F-35B recently completed its first vertical landing on a ship at sea, and now its done the same feat for a short takeoff.

However the F-35B is still struggling with a hot-cold relationship for its funding, and the chatter is remaining steady as looming budget cuts start to take shape. In a nutshell, it's far more politically appealing to kill a struggling project than cut troop size or veteran benefits.
