81 MPH is the magic number that will get you flagged for a ticket.

During an hour long press conference, an incensed Ridgeland Mayor Gary Hodges defended his town's new camera traffic enforcement system on I-95.

He insists that not only did they consult with state leaders on the system to ensure that it fully complies with law that the system is very effective, drastically reducing speeding and accidents.

Coverage abounds but I'll refer you to this solid WSAV 3 video and Island Packet text report.

The hair the broke Hodges' back appears to have been this editorial from The Island Packet that questioned if the town was properly paying its dues to the state from ticket revenue.
