Four charged after Lady's Island McDonald's robbed at gunpoint

On Thursday, March 22, the Lady's Island McDonald's was robbed just before 10:30 p.m. at gunpoint — now four have been arrested.

Beaufort County sheriff's met with employees who said the store had been robbed by three suspects, two armed with handguns.

Employees reported that one suspect had ordered food. As it was being prepared, two more men entered, wearing black masks, and demanded money from the registers. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled to a blue Nissan Maxima waiting in the parking lot. No employees were harmed during the incident.

Employees recognized one of the suspects as the boyfriend of a former employee, identifying him as "George," and were able to provide deputies with a detailed description of the suspects' vehicle. This information was immediately broadcast to all local law enforcement agencies, which resulted in the vehicle being spotted and stopped by the Port Royal Police Department. Four subjects were detained, and were subsequently identified as those involved in the robbery. Cash, two handguns, and masks were recovered during a search of the vehicle.
