Police search for gunman after Sunday robbery of Emily's

Police search with a dog along West Street in the rear of the Charles Street post office.
Update: The incident has sparked more community discussion.
On Sunday, September 16, police arrived at Emily's Restaurant in downtown Beaufort shortly after 12:30 p.m. in response to a robbery.
The Port Republic Street restaurant had been robbed shortly before opening time.
A man armed with a handgun entered the restaurant through an unlocked rear door — a common tactic in armed restaurant robberies.
The robber took a small sum of cash and a few personal items from workers before fleeing down West Street.
The suspec was described as a slightly heavy white male of medium height with long dirty blond hair and was las seen in baggy jeans and a black T-shirt.
