Beaufort County citizens can now watch for and track the registered addresses of area sex offenders, thanks to a new service integrated by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The new service is called OffenderWatch.

"This service, which is offered at no cost, allows the user to enter any
address within Beaufort County and see real-time information on the
publishable offenders within a specified radius of the entered address" read the statement released by Sheriff Tanner's office regarding the use of the system, finishing: "Citizens interested in utilizing OffenderWatch may access it through the Sheriff’s Office website."

Additionally, concerned residents can also receive email updates concerning the whereabouts of sex offenders in the area and alerts should the offender step within one mile of the citizens home, school, work place etc.
