Celebrate Beaufort culture, chow down, and jam out at the Beaufort Shrimp Festival

The Beaufort Shrimp Festival is back and begins Friday night, October 1, and continues Saturday, October 2.

This year's big feature being Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band performing Friday night for a free concert at the Waterfront Park.

Here's the full breakdown of the events during the two days.

Friday

  • Noon - 10:30pm - Craft Market opens
  • Noon - 5:00pm - Packets for the 5K run, Walk
    Through History, Popcorn Shrimp run and Lt. Dan Bike Ride can be
    picked up at The Visitor Center on Craven Street. You can also
    register for the race at this time
  • 6 - Gates open for Lt. Dan Concert with 9
    restaurants serving food and beverage stands. No strollers, coolers, or pets.
  • 6:30 - Happy Gets Lucky Performs
  • 8:30 - Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band Performs
  • 10:45 - Concert Ends

Saturday

  • 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 -  Last minute registrations
    and packet pickup for the 5K run, Walk Through History, and the Popcorn Shrimp run at
    race site in front of Freedom Park on Bay Street
  • 8 - 5K run and Walk
    Through History begins in downtown Beaufort.
    Lt. Dan Bike Ride
    begins on Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort
  • 8:45 - Popcorn Shrimp run (7 & under) in downtown
    Beaufort
  • 11 - 5 p.m. - The 16th Annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival continues with 17 restaurants, craft market, beverage stands, and live Entertainment featuring Red Moon & The East Coast
    Party Band, children's area, Sea Island Rotary's Rubber Shrimp Race, Adult Shrimp Heading Competition, Children's Shrimp Peeling Competition Silver Cup Awards
