Two interesting stories in area papers this morning regarding the quality of area waterways and the health of some of the animals living in them.

The Island Packet has a story on the state of S.C.'s waterways. In terms of water quality and pollution Beaufort falls somewhere in the middle. You can read the piece here.

Also worthy of mention is a story out of Charleston regarding the uptick in the number of dolphins that are washing up on shore. Thirty dolphins washed up in the Lowcountry this past spring.

You can check out that story here.
