Yemassee gets to keep its ambulance

Not a Beaufort-centric story, but Yemassee is indeed our neighbor to the north, and according to reports this morning it gets to keep its ambulance.

Apparently Hampton County had cut ambulance service to the little town for two months in a budget-cutting action. That of course bothered residents.

On Monday night the Hampton County Council agreed to restore the service.

I found this to be an interesting story in that Yemassee is a town that's everywhere (split among several counties) but at the same time really nowhere (struggling to gain recognition from any of the counties.)

And while other areas deal with huge ticket items, Yemassee is fighting for a very basic need, an ambulance.
