Many tags in Beaufort are expired but renewals paid for.

Three years after a computer systems upgrade Beaufort County is still struggling to mail out tax renewal notices and process payments before automobile tags expire. 

Write-ups this week from The Beaufort Tribune and The Island Packet note the woes blamed on bug ridden software.

Just remember, if you've paid online and are still waiting, be sure to carry a printed receipt in your car.
