Updated Nov. 11: Remember the county treasurer who just got voted out of office? Well an almost 300-page audit of that treasurer's office has been returned to the county and it includes six "significant deficiencies," according to the Island Packet.

You can check out The Island Packet's coverage for a full rundown of the audit and the deficiencies.

Reported Nov. 4: Two days clear of this year's election local media are starting to reflect a bit more on what a change in leadership at the Beaufort County Treasurer's Office will mean for the county, and have been able to catch up with the winning and losing parties.

Joy Logan's issues while in office were well documented by the media, including the embezzlement that occurred under her watch.

But as of July 1 there will be a new boss in town, and Doug Henderson said he wants to restore the trust in that office (see WSAV's video below).

Henderson will take over on July 1.
