On Tuesday, March 15th, the South Carolina House OK'd a $5.2 billion budget that contained only some of the budget cuts Gov. Nikki Haley had hoped for.

Among the Haley irksome dollars were $2 million in funding for the S.C. Arts Commission and $1 million to help run the 2012 presidential primaries.

Also of note are tighter budgets at higher education and higher medical premiums for state workers.

I'll point you over to The State for a quick rundown of what's in the budget; read their report here. Check out the proposed budget in detail at the Statehouse online.

And remember, the budget still needs gnashing by the Senate.

Fun tip: The budget approved last year was just $4.9 billion.
