Lady sandsharks in 17th place heading into final round of nationals (update: final round results)

Update May 5: The USCB womans golf team wrapped up their third season in existence by holding onto their 18th place finish in the years biggest tournament, leaving them ranked 12th in the season ending NAIA polls.

Sophomore Kelli Nakano was the teams best performer, shooting scores of 89, 80, 78 and 81, while out-going senior and team captain Sophie Henke shot 87 in her last ever competitive round as a sandshark.

First Reporting: The University of South Carolina Beaufort womans golf tournament shot a combined score of 324 Thursday, May 19 to place themselves in 17th place in the tournament, 25 shots out of 10th place going into the final round of the years biggest NAIA college golf tournament.

Outgoing senior Sophie Henke is leading the team with scores of 79, 80, and 83, while junior Adriana Saavedra is three shotes behind her, having shot 85, 79, 81. The tournament is the final one of the year, and is being contested at Link Hills Golf and Country Club in Greenville, Tennessee.

The tournament conclude's today with the final 18 holes of the 72 hole tournament. The Sand Sharks are again expected to play in the morning round.
