Reports coming in that a 64-year-old man died today of cardiac arrest during the Friends of Hunting Island 5K Run and Walk this Saturday, October 9.

A couple of reports abound, but I'll point you to the brief at The Beaufort Tribune for now.

Update October 9, 6 p.m.: The Island Packet's Patrick Donohue is reporting the man's name is John Wonderly.

Update October 9: Bluffton Today is saying the man is a former lance corporal with the S.C. Highway Patrol; read their brief here.
