AMES Academy accepting applications for 2012-13 school year

AMES Academy, home of a popular academic magnet program aimed towards the county's elementary students with a passion for math and science, is curently accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year.

AMES Academy is based on teaching students rigorous math and science skills by using engineering, science, and technology projects. Eligible students include rising 3rd-, 4th, and 5th-graders in the district's gifted and talented program as well as students of that age who have scored in the 89th percentile or higher on a standardized achievement test while having at least a B average in reading, math, and science.

Interested students and their parents are encouraged to explore this education option during the Beaufort Elementary and Pritchardville Elementary AMES showcases on Thursday, January 26th, at 6 p.m.
