The Beaufort County School District has reached a $225,000 settlement with the family of a Lady's Island Middle School student whose jaw was broken when he was punched by another student.

The Island Packet  has a brief report on it here, but the district's insurance will pick up $125,000 of the settlement, while the family of the young pugilist will pick up the rest.
