A brief report form Bluffton Today notes that 52-year-old Russell Summers of Beaufort died late Sunday, May 8, in a motorcycle accident in which he was not wearing a helmet.

According to the report, the man died after he collided with a 2005 Volvo SUV at about 10:15 p.m. on Lady's Island's Sams Point Road. He was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, although doctors were unable to save his life.
