The Palmetto Animal League is putting the finishing touches on its new no-kill adoption facility for dogs and cats in Okatie and is looking to an October opening to help some 1,000 pets find homes each year.

The Island Packet has a nice profile of the group and what they're hoping to do; read about it here.

The 7,700 square foot site is in the Riverwalk Business park in Okatie, near Bluffton.
