It's that rare magical time of the year in the Lowcountry when there's a chance of snow, unfortunately it doesn't seem likely for Beaufort.

Thanks to a strong artic cold front pushing through forecasters are saying there's a strong chance of flurries starting at 9 p.m. Saturday and ending before midnight, but only for more northern counties.

The National Weather Service writes: 

A strong arctic cold front will move across the area this afternoon and evening as low pressure develops off the East
Coast. Strong winds, much colder air and even a little light snow in far northern areas will develop in wake of the front tonight. Cool high pressure will build into the area Sunday and then prevail through Monday. The next cold front will impact the area on Tuesday with another system expected by late in the week.

Forecasters also say that a lake effect off Lake Moultrie could cause locally higher amounts of snow in Berkeley County and even some small accumulation.

Regardless watch out for high wind gusts throughout the night as temperatures drop into high 20s and a feel bottoming out near 16.
