While smoking is on the regulation downside, alcohol sales in Savannah are getting more freedom.

After Savannah voters approved Sunday alcohol sales in November, city council has now approved the change to take immediate effect — provided business get the appropriate license.

So the next time you're headed to visit someone in Savannah on Sunday, there's no need to get that beer or wine north of the border.
