The story goes like this: A Dataw Island man in November had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital by crews from the Lady's Island-St. Helena Fire District. The man survived, and if the story ended there it wouldn't seem to out of the ordinary. 

But the Dataw man decided to show his gratitude by inviting the fire crew that saved him over to his house for Christmas dinner.
