Laura Sterling was running against Weston Newton and Jerry Stewart to get the GOP nomination in the greater Bluffton and Jasper House District 120 seat — but the same S.C. Supreme Court ruling that removed some 180 candidates statewide has fallen on Sterling, too.

The Island Packet and Bluffton Today both have reports on the development. 

It's more bad news for Sterling, who also just saw an article published that she owes creditors some $190,000.

The primary is June 12.
