Fans awaiting the first pitch of the University of South Carolina Beaufort's baseball season will have to do so a little longer.

The school's athletic department announced Friday the forced cancellation of their first series against Union University today due to weather safety concerns. Sunday's game against Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee will act as the season's new opener, although poor weather could also have an affect on the scheduling of that game.
