Local Celebrity Chefs Join Louie’s Kids to Combat Childhood Obesity

7th Annual Little Chef, Big Chef fundraising event at Four Ninety-Two

Charleston, S.C. (July 16, 2015) – Five of Charleston’s most celebrated chefs partner with local children from the Louie’s Kids program to host the 7th Annual Little Chef, Big Chef fundraising competition. The event, presented this year by Goose Island Brewery, Whole Foods Market and Motley Rice, with additional sponsors Southern Eagle Distributing, New Country Kickin' 92.5, KW Associates and Coastal Cupboards will be held on September 21, from 7 – 10 p.m., at Four Ninety-Two. Proceeds from the event benefit Louie’s Kids, a national nonprofit treating childhood obesity through promotion of a healthier more productive lifestyle.

The event’s guests will be treated to an evening of culinary delight spearheaded by this year’s roster of talented chefs: Nate Whiting of Four Ninety-Two, Jacques Larson of Wild Olive and The Obstinate Daughter, Amanee Neirouz of Four Ninety-Two, Jason Stanhope of FIG, and Kevin Johnson of The Grocery. The evening includes five courses, prepared by the all-star chefs and their partnering little chefs. Each course will be accompanied by a wine and beer pairing compliments of the evening’s sponsors.

“It's an honor to be invited as a participant in Little Chef, Big Chef,” said host chef Nate Whiting of Four Ninety-Two. “I'm looking forward to opening our home and collaborating with not only my little chef, but also with four other amazing chefs for this truly unique dinner."

Louis Yuhasz, founder of Louie’s Kids, has seen firsthand how impactful the Little Chef, Big Chef event is to the kids his organization serves. “The chef’s this year have devoted a significant amount of time to meeting with their little chefs and knowing them on a personal level,” said Yuhasz. “Most of the participants are spending several hours a week with some of the top culinary minds in the country, and they could not be more appreciative of the opportunity. Each has worked so hard to get to this point and it’s great to see how they are all using the experience to make a positive impact not only on their health, but their whole perspective on life.”

Tickets are available for $175 per person, not including gratuity. Advance tickets can be reserved by calling Four Ninety-Two directly at (843) 203-6338. Purchasing tickets early is strongly encouraged, as space is limited to 80 people this year and will sell out in advance.
