In audio and text, perspectives of the Civil War 150 years later

As Charleston marks 150 years since the outbreak of the Civil War and the firing on Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861 with cannon fire and re-enactments, NPR has put together a nice collection of perspectives.

In a written and 13-minute streaming audio report, they chat with a number of players from Charleston Mayor Joe Riley, to state Sen. Glenn McConnell, to re-enactors of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, to the director of Charleston's Old Slave Mart Museum.

It's a brief bit of history and a collection of thoughts on how folks view the Civil War today.
