The Charleston City Paper had a chance to sit down and chat with Spoleto Festival USA's General Director Nigel Redden during the 2010 season's final week.
Redden has been with the festival since 1986 and you can bet he has countless stories about his favorite performances, toughest challenges and an insider's insight into Spoleto's past, present and future.
However, please take note the first comment on the piece. It addresses the recent departure of Spoleto's music director Emmanuel Villaume citing that despite what is being said about there being no bad blood between Villaume and Redden, all may not be quite as it seems.
