Logan Neitzel showcased a breathtaking fall collection at Hampden Clothing

Before the shows this evening I popped into Hampden Clothing to check out Logan Neitzel's Fall 2010 Trunk Show.

If you’ve been playing luddite or hiding under rocks, Neitzel was cast on the 6th season of Bravo’s Project Runway, alongside Charleston’s Carol Hannah Whitfield.

First off, the Collection. Is. Gorgeous.  Neitzel used various leathers, from pig skin to Australian deer, to create edgy, avant guard looks.  Stand out pieces included a large, multipurpose leather scarf (the designer had it tied around hips at one point) with cutout detailing, a ruched, hooded cloak, a fabulous skirt with metal, dagger looking adornments and leather accessories to be worn on the shoulders or shoes.

All pieces were in shades of white, grey and black, all handmade by the designer.  The result was limited edition, one of a kind items for sale.  Local artist Jared Charzewski molded scraps of black metal into an impressive vertical sculpture, on which items from the collection were shown.

Models featured in Charleston Fashion Week strutted up and down a red carpet in store, showcasing the impeccable fit of his designs.  Neitzel chatted about alligator coin purses for sale that will soon match larger bags of the same variety, and his love of item versatiliy.

If you missed the chance to meet and buy from the charming designer, check out his new website launching April 1st.
