Update August 9: Robert Behre chatted up Evan Thompson about his vision of preservation, and out of it came a message that's as interested in what's happening with trendier spots like Taco Boy as classic Georgian buildings.

Take a read of the interview here.

First reporting June 19: First off the Preservation Society of Charleston is an advocate of preservation in Charleston and is responsible for the historic markers and Carolopolis markers you see around town, among other things.

And they have a new director: Evan Thompson who comes to Charleston by way of the Historic Beaufort Foundation.

The society has a short press release on the change and The Post and Courier has done a profile on Thompson.
