Turn drab and empty store fronts into something great

Do you get depressed seeing all the empty storefronts on King Street? Are you an artist?

Well, make some magic happen.

New "public art project" WALK Gallery, LLC, is aiming fill empty King Street storefronts with artwork by local artists. The exhibition is slated to begin at the start of this year's Spoleto Festival (May 21) and run through June 28.

WALK (Window Art Local Knowledge) Gallery, LLC exists to improve the quality of life through design and education.

. The project turns closed, vacant spaces into vibrant exhibit spaces.
. Local artists get a high-traffic venue to show their work.
. Property owners have attention drawn to buildings and spaces that are available for sale or rent.
. The project adds additional foot traffic and excitement to existing downtown businesses.
