Little River vineyard thankful for the hot weather

When you think drought and hot weather, you think dead and dying grass and plants. But that's not the case in the wine business.
Grapes thrive on the heat and La Belle Amie owner Vicki Weigle talked with SCnow.com about how this weather is great for her Muscadine grapes and more importantly, for the wine that it becomes! Vicki says that she's only watered the grape vines "maybe twice this season".
Other area farmers on the other hand, llike those that grow soy beans or corn, probably aren't very happy about this weather. Hop on over to SCnow.com to read their write-up.
- Additionally, check out SCnow.com's Vineyard an easy, inexpensive and tasty experience a great feature SCnow did as a part of their "Tight Budget Trips" series.
La Belle Amie also has events all summer long:
- Wine Wednesday: Wednesday's 1pm-5pm
- Saturday's Music & Wine @ The Vineyard: Saturday's Noon-4pm
- Summer Parrot Head Festival: Saturday, July 30th. Noon-5pm
Make sure to head on over to La Belle Amie's website for the most up-to-date schedule of events. Also, join their Fans of La Belle Amie Facebook group.
